Want to buy a DVDRW burning laser

Hi there, after multiple attempts, i have failed at building a working laser from a dvd-rw drive.
O always seemed to find two laser diodes, both with burning power, and both which were broke after minor usage with unregulated 2XAA batteries.
I have broken about 6 dvdrw drives and still be unable to make a working buring laser, that can burn through most things black and can shine for a considerable distance away.

All in all, i would like to buy a burning laser, regulated, in the aixiz laser housing or whatever and preferably in some nice housing?
a buy on ebay / face to face meeting / amazon or something would be great.
could anyone get me a link to one? or if anyone has one willing to sell let me know via PM or email? (harshil4@hotmail.com) preferabley email..

Could you please include the lowest price willing to sell for.. preferably lower than 20Pounds, or is that too tight budgeted?

DVDRW drives are approx 12pounds, and aixiz modules are about 2pounds, a voltage regulator can be built for about 50p, looking at the part list. (vol regulator, resistors, diode, capacitor).
Building i guess would be easy and a ten minute job for the likes of you expert people in the forum :P

Thanks for all the help, and i know its my first post, but i've been trying to follow this forum as much as my noobish mind can handle for months without actually posting!

20GBP is a bit low, especially if you want it in some sort of host like a flashlight or a box with a switch etc. A regulating driver may only be some $4 in parts, but having circuit boards fabbed costs money too. The drivers we use cost between $10 and $30. The flashlights we use as hosts cost between $10 and $20, and turning a heatsink for one on a lathe costs between $20 and $30.

The cheapest you're probably going to find a completed laser for on here is around $50, and that's making almost no profit for the work involved. If you're really on that tight a budget you might want to consider this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11315 - by and large the single cheapest laser available.

yep, you're better buying a dilda. I ensure you it rocks and the price is just amazing :D

Thanks

Thanks! i've been looking for something like that for agessssss
you are a ledgend!
by any chance do you happen to know the cheapest i could get a green 500mw powered one?
but seriously, thanks.. you are a life saver!

For a green laser that ACTUALLY produces 500mW you'll be looking at a minimum of about $750US. Check here for decently priced high-powere green laser pointers and modules.
