Hello LPF!
This is my first post! After seeing youtubers like styropyro blasting his way through plastics and and even computer cases with homebuilt lasers, I knew I had to jump into this really cool hobby. So I am jumping in head first with a class 4 , 1.4W 465nm laser from jetlasersI I also ordered quality safety glasses from survival laser, and plan on wearing them while using the laser, but I want to ask... is it EVER safe to not have glasses on? IE, outdoors, or while burning indoors with a beam dump? Or is a 1.4W 465nm laser simply too bright to safely look at in any circumstance without risk of eye injury?
Also, how great is the risk of burning down my house with this thing? I just have no frame of reference so any input/advice before it arrives is appreciated. Good news is that I have a fair bit of experience handling dangerous objects (guns, knives) so safety is important to me.
Lots of great info on this forum and I look forward to posting images and a review when the laser arrives (hopefully this week!)
Thanks!
