Using a diode from LG GCC-4522B worth it?






Can't tell from the angle but it looks like a short closed can diode. Max safe current on 16x diodes is 250mA, I think.
 
it is a short closed diode not a open one...
and i we looked on ebay for Laser Modules and im going to use 4 1.5v AAAs in series so i get 6 and and than a 5v transistor to drop it to 5v and than i looked at this driver:5V 250mA Power Supply Driver for Laser Diode Module | eBay
is that one good?
or do you know another driver? i wanna use AAA batteries cause i got alot of rechargeble AAAs at home :)
 
You could make a constant current LM317 driver. Its very cheap. Only downside I can see is that 4 AAAs wont cut it. A red diode needs around 2v and the LM317 will drop around 2.5v. 4 rechargeable AAAs is only 4.8v. You would need six cells for this to work.

You could also look for a buck driver. Just use the search function on the bottom of the page.
