I've got one of the red lasers that runs on 2xCR123, has a brass ring in the midsection, and is focusable, that I *think* is known as the Sentorch, because it came in a group buy run by Senkat a year or more ago.

The diode and driver run fine, but the switch is utter crap -- a solder blob is the contact from the switch to the aluminum. This results in highly variable performance; this unit ought to be about 30-50% brighter than my Star Wars blaster (which has a drlava 16x diode in it, and consistently puts out around 150mW), but often isn't. The switch from a Galileo laser sorta fits ... threads aren't compatible, but at least makes good contact.

What upgrades are feasible with this unit? I'd like to find a cheap but decent switch substitute. Also, has anyone tried swapping out drivers?

it shouldn't be that difficult to replace the driver in this at all.
