Picked this up form fleabay for next to nothing, just for the hell of it.
Think the tube may already be missing though.
Links to big images below. This thing weighs the same as a small car, so I'm going to have to get the car to get it home, then I'll do a teardown.

-----------UPDATE----------
Teardown Completed
Well I had a very pleasant suprise, the tube was indeed still in the housing, and intact, and it's a big ass tube as well...and it weighs a ton.
Top frame removed.
Next I suspected it might be filled with oil, which was indeed the case so I drained it off and removed the innards.
And after removing the side plates, I was greeted with this, one lead lined vacuum tube holder, and one of the biggest HV transformers I've ever seen
Time to break that puppy out.
Its a boy!
A bit of spit and polish later :-
Top of the HV transformer & lead lined tube mount.
So there you have it, what a score.

Update 2
May have found the reason it was taken out of service , looks like it had an arc or flashover.
This is right above the terminals for the filament transformer..
And the filament transformer itself..
And here are close-ups of the emission area ..
And the filament powered at just under 3V..
Thanks for looking.

Update 3
I'm not even going to try and figure the wiring out on this filament transformer!
I would, however, like to try and get the HV transformer going, suggestions?
The tube back in its lead lined housing to keep it safe.
