umm 1.5v li-po rechargeables whats the deal here






They have two terminals on the positive side. An outer ring is at the standard 3.7V potential with direct connection to the internal lithium cell. There's presumably an internal regulator to provide 1.5V to the standard center terminal. I'd guess linear regulator, but I'm not sure. They have poor capacity as a result. I'd stick with other tech.

I agree. I've never seen a battery that didn't output it's type's voltage with a switching regulator (more efficient). They probably exist though. Though it's uncommon, I have seen some with linear regulators, and I'd guess this is how these function as well. These were in single-cell applications where somebody could have just put a regulator on the device PCB though.
