I believe he wants to do it without wires ... in which case a resonant transformer would work well.

I'm sorta going to do that when i get a bit mroe knowledge of AC electronics. Someone in my school already made a tesla coil. I'm going to use magnetic resonance (i guess that's what you'd call it) to transfer electricity wirelessly as well.... but i wanted to do a simple DC design using a laser beam.


It's not supposed to be efficient. the only part i cared about efficiency was on the reciever for the laser beam because solar cells reflect more light than they absorb (which i solved that problem dramatically by having the laser beam reflect back onto the solar cells repeatedly. easily 100% more efficient).

The next step is to find out which more cost efficient; converting the current IR diode to green wavelength or just buying a green laser diode
