Ultrafire Torch

sure seems like it would work. only question is is there enough room for extra parts and such?

Is this the ultrafire C3 ??  It's a small 1 watt light and yes, if it is, I've posted a picture of mine putting out about 210 mW of red.  I used the "small" Aixiz module with added machined brass fittings.  Short duty cycle because there's nothing there for a heatsink !!!

Mike

It's a little hard to see but I can get another picture.

No it's not a C3 its a Ultrafire WF-606A 3W Cree Flashlight. Looks a bit bigger than your C3? So looks like it will have plenty of space in it?! lol. As you guys seem to think it will be ok, I'll be ordering one as soon as I get SenKats diodes through!! ^_^

Thanks for the info guys, especially you Mike ;D

I went over to DX and looked at yours and mine. They both use the same emitter (P4) but I didn't think the VxI readings on mine gave 3 watts --
Very Interesting !!!!

I still love that picture Mike... ;D

Hopefully I'll upload one of my own soon ;) :P

;D I hear you Daedal. I also LOVE the way Mike mounts his filter to the meter. ;)

Long time no see everyone! It's been aaages since the GB for all those diodes and I've only just got around to playing with them. Anyway, I have been looking at torches as a host again and I just wanted a quick opinion on this one:

One question I really did want to ask though, what are the driver boards in these things (or similar) like? Are the usable (with modification/additional board) for driving LDs? Reason I ask is because this torch has "strobe" mode. Flashy laser would be kewl I think.

Anyways, thanks guys and when I get round to actually building the thing I'll take plenty of photos as I know you all love to watch newbies building things! On a side note, I have fired up one of the GB diodes and wow! Brilliant little thing!
