Hi,

I have a extracted module that I am trying to put in a different host. By reading and trying to make sense of all of this, am I soldering correctly (or do I even need too??) I'm so lost and so mad, and was hoping to have this working for tomorrow nights fireworks :(

* the pictured module is a random one (i don't know if its still alive or dead) i was trying the solder to see if i could get any power.

Here is the actual module I am trying to get working ( aluminum heatsink and brass tube are removed)

To do a quick test on a green module get a 2x AA holder and touch the positive wire to the brass and the negative to the spring.

And those pics are two different modules...

Well it's not gonna work if you have an empty spot in your battery holder. Put a wire or something across that spot.

I got 3 batteries in there...took the red wire and hooked it to the spring...then the black i touched all up and down the gold and nothing lit up...is there anything i could be doing wrong? or anything i could do to help

Re read my post again. Red goes to the brass, black to the spring. You really shouldn't use 3 batteries though.

OMG it worked!!!!!! now i just got to figure out how to get it snug and secure inside the host

and the module that i was testing is working but only shining a red light

yeah that red light is the infrared, dont look at it, it will screw your eyes up. what i think has happened is you have somehow damaged your laser or it is a cheap chinese made one. best to buy a new one
