Also a 75 W halogen is like 1500 lumens max

No way is a 100 watt 4100 lumens. Maybe 2200. A 35 w HID is way brighter than both.

That's it?!?! That's really shitty. I figured it was at least the same as the ebay HIDs.

My 75watt Halogen is 1450 lumens. Unless they overdrive the 100 watt so the filament burns hotter , but even then it will last like a minute before it dims down due to battery drain. I doubt you could do much over driving with the battery size the torch has. I got a 35W Stanley HID and it's soooooooooo much brighter.

that means 41.18 lumens per watt. I wonder if they're over driving the bulb by using a 14 volt battery pack. Someone on CPF did get 10,000 lumens by overdriving a 12 volt 100 watt bulb. If that's the case it's even another reason NOT to get the torch. You'll get like 100 hours out of the bulb.

Lumens per watt and efficiency.
tungsten quartz halogen (12–24 V) 24 3.5%
photographic and projection lamps 35[16] 5.1%

Yes, they're overdriven, and yes, I wouldn't expect more than a few hours of life from the lamp. But a few hours is quite long compared with the 5 minute battery life.

I mean it's overpriced to begin with and then you have to buy bulbs. The batteries prolly only last a few cycles too cause I'd imagine heat gets the best of them along with like a 9C drain rate. Yea it's a wicked scam alright
