Going to take a lot more successful net-gain testing to convince me laser confinement fusion is the way forwards - but it's definitely interesting to see a group doing this separately from NIF. I'm putting my "money" on advanced magnetic confinement (Stellerators & Tokamaks) and the slightly out-of-the box solutions from companies like General Fusion up in Canada.

Not a fusion physicist or anything here, just someone who's keen to see fusion take over from baseload coal/gas (and hopeful that it will in my lifetime!)
