OK! This host appears to be a "Hotlight" clone or hell, maybe even an original newer model...IDK. So, after finding This host mod, I realized this is, basically, what I have!
So, I got 3 gold Dollar coins to grind down for my driver heat sink today. I think I am going to modify this build by making a custom heat sink (based on DTR's design) and replacing the spacer with this, rather than isolating the driver from the case. I'm going to isolate the + lead and drill it through the heat sink (coins) to attach to the driver. I'm going to cut down the plastic, side-clicky "pill" to make extra room for the driver and diode heat sink. Then, it's off to JayRob or someone to have the diode heat sink machined.
Now, If I can just decide on which diode to pack in this build!

So, I have this massive flashlight that I got as a free promotional gift. I searched high and low to try to find the manufacturer, model no., etc on it to no avail. I really tried before I came to you guys.
So, I just know that the genius machinists here can manage a heat sink for this FREE host. I'd love something for one of DTR's 12X 405nm S06J modules tuned to 500mA. I'm imagining great duty cycles!
So, as you can see, it's got a carrier for 3 AAAs. I will have to research the optimal power supply. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I'm assuming DTR knows darned well what is a good driver for his module kits, but IDK yet if that kind of rig is compatible or if I am going to need a pill or what in regards o a driver.
