Nice video bootleg2go, where did you get that laser power checker and how much?
Hi Vegeta,
It's a Coherent fieldmaster GS.
The meter itself cost $1700 US and the thermal head is a model LM-3 HTD that costs $900 US, so the full price is $2600.
When I 1st started Optotronics, I got a lasercheck, but realized their accuracy is pretty limited since they use a silicon based sensor which is very sensitive to IR and they only report peak values, which can be deceiving.
I found that out the hard way.
I sold a laser to a company who was working on getting a large military contract.
I had tested his laser with a lasercheck many times and sold it at the power level the lasercheck reported. When they received the laser I got a call that output was only 180mW average and they required 200mW minimum for their project and they had to demo it to the military the next afternoon.
To make sure they got one which met their requirements, I told them to ship me back the laser and I would cross ship them 2 lasers by overnight fedex to make sure they could do the demo.
When I got the laser returned, the meter and head were packaged with it along with a note to test everything I ship them with this meter. (way cool!).
After using it for several months, they offered to trade it to me for an additional laser.
In the end, I traded 3 very nice portable lasers for it and now it's my most important tool. Now my eye's on a good beam profiler.
