Sorry about the bad pun :yabbem:
This was discussed a bit in here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/drivers-445-a-51830.html
And I've read over Grix's no-longer-updated diode chart.
But I'm still left wondering whether anyone has settled the question of whether we can practically use LED emitters to drive 445nm A130/A140 diodes ?
Apart from AMC7135 drivers, what is the current wisdom on using other cheap(er than Microboosts, etc) drivers? There was talk of trying some of the Sandwich Shoppe's drivers ($15 ish range), and I'd be curious to know of their success. But I'd also be curious to know how well some of the really cheap $4-ish range LED drivers work.
Thoughts?
