I am seeking information regarding the module used in the CNI PGL-III-C 589nm 80mW Lasers. I am thinking about just ordering the module and having my own host custom made. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Isaac

Its a PGL-H module. Size is 26(D)×55.5(L) mm

Case (+), should come with driver.

They'll sell it to you ;)

Would it be similar to the Lasever 473 Module I just bought from Jayrob?

It's like 2mm longer or something. It shouldn't be much different from that one. I've seen the one in my 561 and it looked no different than the 473 module I had a long time ago.

Yeah thats what I am going to do. Was just trying to get an idea of how possible it would be to just have the module.

It would be pretty amazing having an 80mw 589 in a custom host :) the PGL-III in my opinion is a bit bland, although I've never seen one in person

I agree^ perhaps an inquiry about just the modules on this GB could be interesting

The PGL-III-C is a nice host, very solid feeling, but while considering what I will put my 473nm Lasever module in it occured to me that I could do something similar with the 589nm laser I am getting.

Email to Ava has been sent, I'll see what is possible. Now I gotta get back to brainstorming host ideas for my 473.

Thanks,
Isaac

PS - ZRaffleticket how difficult was your Lasever build? Also, how much did the custom machining work cost you? Feel free to PM me with that info if you don't want to lay it out there on the open forum. Lastly, how was your lens mounted?

I'm interested too. really the only thing I really like about the host it would come in is the shutter...

Yes, the PGL shutter is fantastic. However I would caution some people away from just going with a module, for one reason:

1. A completed laser from CNI carries with it a warranty and involves no risk of the buyer fucking it up. A module likely carries no such warranty so if you screw the pooch you are out 600 dollars with no recourse.

Pretty much but it's also customs exempt as its an OEM part
