Well... our TEC supplier finally responded to the numerous
E-Mails I had sent.
It seems the solder used on these 8 X 8 TECs was rated
at only 80C... as I suspected.
He offered a higher temp solder but at a higher cost.
Asked for a quote for the same 8 X 8 TECs rated at Tmax
200C.
And as luck would have it.. The Chinese New Year
Holidays started yesterday.. So I need to wait 2 weeks
for that.
On a higher note... I tested our 15 X 15 TECs yesterday
at ~13 Watts with a 3mm dia beam.
No problems at all using our larger Heatsink design.
The beam was held on the TEC for about 2 minutes.
Plenty of time to get a stable reading.
