ok i bought a few 168ma TEC coolers and i was wonderin'..

If i slap one of thease around a standard AiXiZ blank and stuff a 16x open can burner diode in there and strap that on to a driver, think i can get a stable 250-300mw out of that puppy?

I made a TEC project a while back and learned a lot of things in the process. I got a lot of help and advice from forum members. It is an interesting thread to read through. At the end, it really turned out nice! I used an open can diode for it. At one point, I turned it up to 395mW's! I have it running at 450mA's now....269mW's - Meredith acrylic. Check it out:

Im thinking the tall one...

Yep...kinda. I referred you to the thread, because there is a lot of things to consider. Not just the peltier, but a finned heatsink, with a fan as well.

Anyway, sounds like a cool project! Looking forward to some pictures and details!

Yeah, the only problem with TEC modules is they draw a fair bit of current and produce quite a bit of heat themselves. Cooled a CPU using TEC a while back.

i plan on using that tall heat sync and the fans from the 360 too.. i have a good idea of what i plan on doing... thanks for the advice.. i will be sire to post pics
