Sorry for the slow reply everyone.
Unfortunately I have lost interest in nitrogen lasers, have been fairly busy recently and haven't had much chance to play around with them. I'll have another go at it some time soon, I really like the idea of building something completely from scratch and getting it to emit coherent light. Which is my reason for starting this in the first place.
