Anyone know if this driver is in "high" mode. If yes, why won't it drive a NUBM44-V2 above 3.5 watts? I'm powering it at just over 8 volts, and 5 amps on this setup with a 24v, 250w (10 amp) SOLA power supply..

Really? It needs 12 volts to output max current? I thought a volt or 2 over drop was sufficient. Thanks!

I said........2 or 3........18650's........in series.........and heat sink the 8 pin chip...........also your pic is blurry.

Also when you're adjusting the pot you need to be gentle with it.
Have you tested your laser diode with your power supply ( without the driver ) to see that it's able to output more than 3.5W ?
Is your laser diode is in a heat sink ?

Well, I don't have it In a host yet, it's in 25mm copper module from Jordan with the driver bonded in the pocket. Luckily, I put a layer of blue tape with a cutout over the 8-pin before I bonded to the module. It poppe out with very little force .

I only put the diode on the PS for a few seconds to make sure it lased. Didn't run it all the way up. I Put the driver on it right after that. I'm going to run it up to full power in about half an hour.

That combo is a 24v, 240w commercial SOLA power supply (scavenged from some removed ems and lighting controllers) heating up a 50v, 15a regulator. It should handle the requirements of any available micro driver.

In the blurry pic, the 2 resistors immediately to the right of the 0 ohm are bridged across the bottom. Is that the high-range?

Thanks,

These are all pre set to 4.0A and 4.5A by Jordan/DTR and they all have that bridge except the two without pots.
The left and center don't have pots and are not bridged but all with pots are bridged.
