Swithc between DMX & ILDA?

I have seen pre built scanners with the option to switch between stand alone and ILDA built into them. Is this possible to do this with scanner kits? I could do with the convinience of being able to use ILDA to create my own shows when needed and the ability to change back to stand alone at family parties and such.

yes you can, your 10k come with a dmx.

I know it comes with one, the idea is to have them all wired up so I can just flick a switch when I want to change the mode.

Wiring up the ILDA wont be a problem, I am going to get one of those ILDA breakout boards overo n PL if there are any left, just I would guess I will have to do it differently if I want to switch between them.

I don't know what they're charging at PL, but you can pick up a connector at radio shack for $2.

make a post on PL forum and ask thr best way to wire up cos im not sure off the top of my head.

i also didnt even look at the dmx once so nto sure what type it is. you might be able to do it though that

Would it not work if you hooked up both DMX and ILDA signals to where they should go, but hooked them up through a switch, or just turned the power off to one if you wanted to use the otheR?
