i was really happy to get this blu ray to work, ive never done one before. I used the 5W MXDL from dealextreme which takes 2 CR123 batteries, a flexdrive driver from drlava (put the diode in to use the 2 cr123s), an 803T diode from danguin that I got in a trade, and a normal Sure module. I'll probably switch out the lens with a glass one I have as well.

the red laser is one of my dorcy jr's that i used a 20x long open can in w/ a glass lens, it is very nice burner.

the green is a DX30 true, just a fun pointer

on to pics, click on pic to see bigger higher quality pic :)

This is the insides, I realize it is very sloppy and dirty, but this was my first build and I was really happy that it even turned on. My next builds will be in a heat sink and i'll remove all the extra wire and not use hot glue to hold the module in place (a heat sink will do this for me). one advantage of this setup is the adjustable POT can be changed without taking anything apart and just sticking a screwdriver down in to turn up the power :)

Good pics, but I agree with Diachi on this one - you could make some nice colour combinations with those!

What current are you driving the BR at, and how much is it outputting?

make a RGV scanner or Spirograph, that would be nice and unusual.

Also does your BR burn at all ?

I'll try combining them later on.

I'm driving it at whatever the default is for the low power flex drives, I think it's about 75mA, I know I can make it higher, which I will do later on, i had just got it working and didn't want to mess with it and possibly break my blu ray on the first day that i had ever seen one.

i don't have a LPM, so I'm not sure on this. I did get it to pop a balloon.. haven't tried a match or anything else yet.

and I will be making a Spirograph sometime soon, just need a pot, some dials, a box and some time and patience. i'll post pics when i finally make one.

You dont need to combine the beams persay, just point them all at the axactly same spot, from different angles . It should look quite cool ;)

Never seen that, would like to though!

when i get the laser boxes from skram0 i'll point my <1mw red and my 30mw greenie and the 3 laser boxes on my spirograph :D

why are you all saying RGV? V should be = B = Blue........or you say V because it's a Blu-ray?
