Star Trek Assault Phaser 1.4W 445nm

I want one :P

Now all someone needs to do is install a 6 watt array in a star trek phaser rifle :)

Thanks alot. I would love to do a tutorial, but I don't want to disassemble the laser now as it was difficult to get the dual Flexdrives to fit without VERY careful precision. However, I would be glad to tell you what parts I used and where and how to install everything. I understand the feeling you have of wanting a Phaser as I had wanted to be able to do this since I was a kid watching Star Trek re-runs on TV. It is such an AWESOME feeling when you point and fire and see the Beam and hear the sound effects. Burning a hole in a CD case or cutting thru wooden match sticks is really Fun.

Yeah, nice job man. I don't want to mess your setup up, so by no means disassemble it. May be you could give a simple parts list and just a sentence on why/how you are using two flex drives. The rest I can figure out as I am pretty good with electronics. That beam must look sweet at night and from your point of view, looks like it goes up forever!

You know I was thinking the same thing. You could probably do a 10 Watt CW array using a large toy laser gun "host". Makes you wonder now if any governments (ahem, US DOD), has a "robust" black laser "gun" program that can say do 100 Watts CW from a rifle using arrays of solid state semiconductors.

PARTS NEEDED FOR THIS BUILD:

-1997 STAR TREK ASSAULT PHASER by Playmates.
-445nm A130 or A140 diode
-Aixiz 12x30mm module
-Tact switch for trigger
-Flexdrive V5 set to 1.5Amps (or 2 set @ 900mA each for dual 1.7mW)
-Aluminum heatsink(finned) small 1"x3/4"(for Driver)
-(2)5mm Blue LED's
-(2)AW IMR 14500 Batteries
-Aixiz 445nm full thread lens
-Heavy Copper Foil(heatsink in module back end)

I will put together some Instructions for this on my next post.

Id never know what I was doing with this, id love to be able to buy something like this from someone.
