Stage laser - replace red with 405?

Hi guys

Since blue makes me drool more than yellow does, would it be possible to replace the red diode with a blu-ray one? Since they are both diodes and have about the same visibility, it seemed pretty easy to pop out the red one and replace it with 100mw 405, but I'm pretty sure I am missing something.

Has anyone tried this?

Probably work, but you'll need a different driver/power source that can supply the higher voltage the 405nm needs. Not sure how the grating inside will respond to that wavelength, but probably fine.
