I ordered the Spyder III recently (to be shipped after July 15th) and I was wondering... it's touted as being a very dangerous Class IV laser capable of permanent eye damage but how's it that projectors in nightclubs that are rarely <2W dont cause anyone any damage whatsoever even though people stay there for hours on end?
I understand that there are preventive safety mechanisms just like on the Spyder III that reduce the power by 80% and pulsed output and other similar attenuation mechanisms, but since anything that is >5mW is considered to be dangerous for the eyes and people dont wear any goggles in the nighclubs, even with all of the safety mechanisms in place, how's that none were ever hurt by those things that sometimes shine on one spot consistently and yet Spyder III is apparetly the most dangerous laser ever made for home usage?
