(I'm going to an ophthalmologist, of course, but I'm just curious. I can't leave the house since it snowed so much most streets are closed in the area of the city where I live, so I have to wait)
A few days ago I was googling information about my migraines and high blood pressure. I was searching and I saw something about visual auras. After that somehow I started googling stuff about eye damage from lasers and after I finished reading some posts on THIS forum, I noticed a medium sized spot near the center of my vision, to the top-right. Now this could've been on my eyes for years and I didn't noticed it until now, or it could be because of something I did that day that caused it, who knows.
When I blink, this spot "lights up" then fades away in about half a second. Now while I'm looking at my screen I can't notice it even if I "look" for it, it only appears on light backgrounds and when I blink, or when something dark moves on a light background or the other way around.
I had a 50mw green laser in the past, the ONLY time I hit myself in the eyes was once, I was shining it through a window and I forgot the window was shiny and half of the beam reflected in my face , and hit my eyes for like a quarter of a second. I saw an afterimage like usual but it faded away after a couple of seconds, and my eyes didn't swell up or anything. I also used the laser indoors , but that was the only time it shined directly into my eyes.(I forgot the lessons I learned in school physics but I guess that was a refracted beam and about 1/2 the strength of the full beam?)
I only NOTICED this thing now, and the last time I used a laser was like... 1 or 2 years ago.
If I position the spot on a tiny object or some letters, those tiny objects eventually fade away like when I have a migraine or as if it was a blind spot. This whole situation is weird as hell.
Do I have a weird lasting ocular migraine or is this eye damage that I only noticed now after almost 2 years?
