The beam specs and output look really promising. Tem00/CW/good beam diameter for burning/ok divergence.
Not sure about the 671nm though. Does that mean it would have really poor visibility? Most reds are 650-660nm.

It's a very bright red, according to Frank at DL.

pssst... I might be getting one of these for review.

It should be pretty close to dvd diode color. On the other hand 671nm means another good thing, DPSS! Which means better beam specs than a crappy multimode highpower red diode. :P

Also means much more expensive :(

Yea well, it's a nice looking highpowered red laser with good beam specs. Not many of those around :P Besides, the green one is already expensive.I don't think it's gonna go higher than that.
Anyway, way better than a 3mRad laser ::)

I'll let you guys know how the beam specs and colour are if I do get one for review from DL. It's all up in the air at this point.

671nm?? Thats a DPSS red! One thing to note, 671nm is a dim red. It's dimmer than than all of our DIY lasers. I'm curious to see what this will be like.

I'm sure the 300mW will be brighter.A red diode get's pretty close to 670nm when it gets warm.
The LG Orion (I think) is still a diode laser. Each has it's pros and cons....

When I spoke to Frank at Dragonlasers about it, he said that it was a pretty bright red, not a dim red.

At the same power, 671nm is dimmer than 650nm/660nm, but this is 300mW so it still will be super bright. I'm sure it is going to be really expensive, considering that this is the only handheld DPSS red on the market. If you have ever looked at the price of a DPSS red, you will know how expensive these things are. Aixiz charges $24,500 for their 5W 671nm module!

just so you all know also, the more current applied to the diode raises the wavelength, so an overdriven red(although not 100% sure) can go to 665nm

I bet this laser will be 1500 bucks for the 300mW version, just like the other two best spartans.
