Well they finally released a red version of their spartan. $1000 for 150mW unfocusable 671nm red. That is a disaster. ;D ;D ;D
Shouldn't event be 1/4 of that! what gives DL?!

that is funny it kinda look like the a 1watt led mini mag light. dosnt look like there is much heat sink on that.

It's because the laser is DPSS therefore it does not need to be focused the same way a green laser does not. This also somewhat justifies the price tag.

The beam diameter is 2mm which won't burn to well at 150mW and the divergence isn't great.

I'm not seeing the point of this either. For the price you can get an RPL 300 which will burn better, have even better specs and be more visible. It would make sense if it was 635nm or some exotic color but 671 red looks just like 660nm only dimmer.
Over $1,000 for a pulsar that you don't need to focus?

I can't believe it!!! :o If you're gonna make it DPSS why the low power? That can be achived by a direct diode way better.Beam diameter is a little better but not really worth it.Low power, unfocusable, wavelength on the edge of the spectrum, DPSS sensitivities to cold and shock, huge power consumption, 1000 dollars? :-? What gives? The DX200 is better in almost every way.Maybe they got screwed somehow by their parts suppliers, and maybe they'll be available in higher powers and prices will drop later.... :-/ I don't really see the point in buying this. And why is it called RP if it's CW?

This would be worth it if the thing put out 300mw for the same price or the price was only $300-500 for 150mw. It simply costs way too much for not enough power. Supposedly Senkat is getting one for review and I won't rant about this anymore until I see a review.

300-500$ would still be much IMO.I mean, the point is to have a power beyond what diodes can achieve. :P Like $2000 for a 300-400mW version would be kinda worth it because it would be rare.
