Spartan 447nm 1W takes longer to ship than expected...

Please refer to this thread for DL's claimed shipping delay

I ordered on 8/23 (which I think is much earlier than 8/30) with order ID #1084x. Today I am so unlucky to be told that my order is in that “few” delayed lasers and shipping time of my order is delayed for one more week. That means my order may take 20 days to ship now.

Actually, their online support has promised me twice, before my order and several days after my order, that my order will be shipped within 8-10 days and will be shipped middle this week at latest. Sigh…

Another person on this forum said his order shipped yesterday and he has waited 21 days. That means he ordered his Spartan 447nm about 10 days earlier than me and also need to wait for 21 days before it can be shipped.

So, I am really curious now that how many orders before 8/30 were really shipped in the claimed 8-10 days. If most people actually get their order shipped after 3 weeks, it means people ordered this product should expect a longer delay than DL’s claimed time. This also means people ordered after 8/30 may take… maybe 1 month to get their order shipped. (DL said orders made after 8/30 will have a 10~15 days shipping delay.)

Another thing I think DL should do is to put this shipping delay information clearly on their product page so customers will know it before order the product. Otherwise, customers may expect their order to be shipped within 3 days after the payment according to the online FAQ of DL’s website. And when the demand becomes higher and higher and the shipping delay becomes longer and longer, this product becomes WL’s Arctic again. (Claimed as in stock but takes months to ship.)

I just ordered my 1w 447nm from DL yesterday and received an email today about shipping.

"Your 447nm laser will be shipped to you in 10 to 15 days.
The reason for this delay is because we have received a large number of orders for these new 447nm lasers and need to produce more lasers which is taking time.
Thank you for your patience.
Regards
Frank"

Almost 3 months and Wicked didn't even bother to acknowledge my order or give me an order status after several requests.

It took 24 days for mine. Which is better then that 58 days and nothing from wicked!

They really did get quite the influx of orders because of the WL catastrophe. Plan to wait a bit. As with any 445nm Laser order, if you want it sooner, build it.

Let me rephrase that for you.
"Your 446nm laser will be shipped to you in 10 to 15 days.
the reason for this delay is because as a result of thousands of people pissed of at WL for ZERO support and communication, they have canceled their orders and bought ours, and we have received a large number of orders for these new 447nm lasers and need to produce more lasers which is taking time.
Thank you for your patience.

I think thats what they were trying to say..

EDIT: "Another person on this forum said his order shipped yesterday and he has waited 21 days." is that me? :D

This sounds almost exactly like the Wicked Laser issue. Fortunately Most nuts have seen the WL articles and have bought their laser there, relieving DL of the same insane number of orders. Had the roles been reversed I can see the same thing that happened to WL happen to DL, though DL would have handled it (much) better.

I ordered on the 27th of august. Frank told me on live chat that they should have more in stock in about 10 days, then confirmed it again in a confirmation email that it should take 10 days after the day I ordered. It sounds to me like I'm in the same batch as those who ordered 10 days before me.

Ordered on the 21st of August. Just received my shipping confirmation and tracking number. Do not know how to use the page of ems.
Gives me always an error when trying to see the tracking details.

cheers

ICU,

Thanks for the tracking site. I thought my Spartan was in Australia. It is in France right now. Mine is coming via USPS, Registered Mail. I don't know why that instead of FedEx like XFly.

I'm sure a lot of people are dissatisfied from WL and switching over. I ordered an Arctic on 6/16, order number 501xx. I put up with lies and mystery delays for almost two months -- the nail in the coffin was when their customer service representative was outright rude in the online support chat. When asked for a more detailed status update, he pasted the latest email into the chat, then sent "You're welcome." and terminated the session. After the initial shock, I cancelled my order via chargeback. I hope it hurts them even a little bit.

I ordered a Spartan on 8/12, order 106xx. It shipped on 9/1 via USPS. I've used the online chat twice now, and the representative has been extremely helpful and professional. World of difference. I can't comment on product quality since I haven't received it yet, but assuming it's comparable, I'm much more satisfied to support a company that actually tries.

If you're waiting for a Spartan, hang in there.

I've heard that people have got their spartans shipped using UPS and EMS also :) I quess dragonlasers chooses the one that ships best to the desired location.

I requested some form of express shipping and was told by their online chat rep that they only use USPS to the USA because EMS to the USA was unreliable. I don't know what specifically makes it unreliable, but suspect it may be a higher ratio of problems with customs.

I GOT MY SPARTAN!!! Currently making a review with ALOT of pics (26 pics atm, will probably take more)

I will post a link to my review on my signature when its done.
