Something wrong with my batteries?

My 445 laser start to blink about 10 mins of usage after the battery is fully charged. I guess this indicates the voltage of the battery has drop below the threshold of the driver. Is it normal for a 18650 battery?

How much current does the driver draw from the battery? I'm using microboost set @1A.

I have 2 18650, both of they behave like that ....

1A 4.5V out is 4.5W out.
4.5W in is 4.2V at 1.08A.
Add inefficiencies and you may be drawing as much as 1.3A from the 18650. A new 18650 (of reputable quality) will have no problem with 1.3A, but an older one that has been cycled a few thousand times will not perform so well.

How new are your 18650s, and did you harvest them or buy them new? They aren't ____fire cells, are they?

The post is in the right forum: "Drivers, Test-load, Power Supply, & Batteries" :D

Trinity_2200: what driver are you using? Sounds to me that it maybe overheating and blinking as it shutdowns, cools down, turns on, heats up, shutdowns, cools down, turn on... a blinking cycle.
