Yesterday I took some beam pics of a few of my lasers :yh: Here you go, enjoy :yh:

Notice that strange gaps in violet beam when blue beam passes over it. Of course it's only matter of the camera. Any ideas why it looks like this? Maybe jpeg compression's trick? I didn't check if it appears in RAWs, have to do it next time.

I bought both PSUs and Spectra-Physics head on Polish internet auction service allegro.pl. The NLC head comes from eBay (you can find some more info on this one at my website: c4r0.skrzynka.org). These lasers were pretty cheap since they were in "unknown condition", that's why I could afford it. Fortunately, it turned out that both work fine, however, the S-P head had some problems with starting for the first time. Probably it had been laying somewhere not used for pretty long time :)

I got a yellow He-Ne laying somewhere around, I should have put it there too :p And place the lasers in proper spectral order :D That would be cool, I'll try to make such pics this week.

I've got a SP 163, too. I wouldn't recommend running it above 8A though

You have enough current capacity to run two argons off of one house circuit? Niceeee.

I know that 10 amps is way too much (for the NLC head too, probably :p) but i'm running it at so high current very seldom and only for several seconds (just for taking a picture) :) I just can't stand taking pic of laser running @8amps when I know I can set it to 10 :D

Yep, my main breaker is 20A or so and it's 230V here, so I can draw even 5 kilowatts of power for a short time (these argons together take about 2 to 2,5kW) :D All this in a block of flats, hehe :p.
