Some Argon Pics. {{UPDATED}}

Re: Some Argon Pics. <<<NEW PICS>>>

The multiline beam measures <2mm. The lines themselves, measure between 4-7mm, most of that is the cheap optics I have, I'm sure.
I am ordering a "lab" D/G from E_F's link. I am sure it will make a world of difference.
After all, how precise can using a CD be?

good, cheap way to split up those beautiful beams though!

stuart :)

Cool! So it's almost like a DPSS green laser's beam.
Also you could use a prism to split the beams, it should be more precise than a CD.

Nice laser and some great pics! Multiline is definitely the way to go! Get some prisms, dichros, and diffraction gratings of various types and you can have a lot of fun with a multiline. If you save all the optics from sleds, you may have some diffraction gratings in your optics collection. Try shining the ML beam through some of the optics that were in front of the LD's in the sled. A few should be gratings.

Very nice beam. i like how the splits look very cool effect

I'm going to have to start watching for multiline argons. If they look that cool in pictures I can only imagine how they look in person.
I was blown away by how little justice pictures give to the Ml Argon's beams and colors.
As you stated, if you think the pictures look awesome, "you ain't seen nothin' yet"
This is the beam's color's as the camera sees it.

This is a Photo-shopped rendition of what they actually look like:(the best I could do, still not as vibrant as in real life.)

This is a good one with Hak (hakzaw1) in the background. He paid me a visit from Texas, with a car packed full of Argons.:D:wave::thanks:

Here's a couple taken by Hak:His camera picks up the colors closer to real life then mine

Yes, the Prisms split the lines up much better.
The prisms I have all project the lines about 2-3mm apart. Too close for the camera to separate them. (Real life it looks cool although)

:thanks:Yes, I thought of that. Unfortunately, none of mine do anything as far as separating the colors. I tried it with all optics out of both a PHR and LPC sled.:(
Hak gave me a few "lab" style optics, but again, none separate the lines far enough for the camera to pick out.
Here's a couple pics through the glass optics.
So far nothing has beat the CD for line separation. As you can see, the divergence is much better, but the lines are too close together. I have ordered that Coherent one and the Dragon Laser ones.also.
I'm also ordering anything I see on eBay that looks promising.
I am bound to get lucky sooner or later.

Wow! That last picture looks amazing! Was it made with an optic from a sled?
