Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

I just built my 445nm laser with the Aixiz 405 glass lens with AR coating, 3405 host with heatsink, microboost driver and a LG 18650 3.7v battery. All seems to work ok but after about 40 seconds the laser starts to blink like its overheating. Is this the case or is it something else?

This is usually a battery or a connection problem

Peace,
dave

Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

Thank you very much Dave. I did a more permanent fix to the negative side and so far no problem. This was a fun build. One very important question. I would like to get a good pair of laser glasses what do you recomend/
Thanks
Steven

For these wavelengths, I use O.E.M. model AL3 goggles. Talk to Tony at O.E.M. He is FrothyChimp here in LPF

Actually, I've read that the Microboost driver has a thermal protection circuit that makes the diode pulse to protect it if it gets too hot. Have you considered that?

The Groove2 has this thermal protection. I do not read anywhere that the MicroBoost has it
