I bought an RPL 400 Green laserfrom Jack at Optotronics (great guy) a few weeks ago for a presentation at the university.  Now that my presentation is done I no longer need the laser.

I bought it with a lens and prism kit.
It has two rechargeable batteries (use 1 at a time)
recharger
case
prism kit
3 pairs of colored safety goggles

No scratches or wear. Just used it for a morning presentation.

I paid $1600 for the laser, new.

Jack included with it a bench test that shows its output at 424 at the 8th setting (settings are 0 through 9).


Asking $1000.

People don't usually have this kind of money, you might have to wait a long time before you sell it. I would take it if I hadn't bought a wii and the modchip and the shit that I need for it!

Hmm... RPL-400.

I wonder if there is a noticeable difference between the RPL-400 and the RPL-300 :-/

There should be a noticeable difference in burning power. The RPL-400 will be a lot better for burning thanks to that extra 100+mw. Visibly it will be hard to tell the difference.
Another thing to consider is that this laser is a lot newer than the other RPL 300 for sale here.

Hrrmm... gad. If it's this tricky to decide between lasers, I'd hate to decide between a REAL life choice :-X

Also if you live in AU it is probably a good idea to get the best laser you can afford. After the ban goes official on July 1st you won't have another chance to get a green laser unless you buy it from someone else in AU. You'll be stuck with blu-rays and DIY reds

Yeah. That's actually a very good point Razako. I mean, it may set me back a bit now. But it's not like I'll be spending any more money on these things... Aussie customs will make sure of that...

And of course, due to the quality of an RPL, it's gonna last forever if I treat it right
