so what holds the future?

No it would look great for nine seconds and then the last sight you see ever. Yellow diodes for the win
 





I woke up this morning thinking I was blind... Everything was so dark, then i realized it was 2AM :crackup: I seriously panicked for about 10 seconds thinking my lasers blinded me LOL :)

Realistically: I foresee multimode 520s as the next big thing.

I don't really think 475nm diodes nor 490nm diodes will become common or cheap. there's no practical use for diodes of those wavelengths.

Idealistically: Yellow diodes may be the next type of diode to poineer for better color balance... and I really like the 480nm color range... I'll get my hands on a nice diode someday.
 
I'm calling cheap 473 dpss. They'll go the same way as 532s did.
(or thats what I keep telling myself every time I have the urge to buy one :D)
