there's a pump diode at 808nm my question is what kind of power is one of these pumps putting out? just wondering if i could take out the crystals and have a more powerful laser..

It's probably a 200mW diode

200mW is 200mW. You wont be able to see it but it will burn. You will need to collimate the IR beam as well.

Definitely not going to be that efficient and even though theres no IR filter lots of light will probably get stopped by something...Or maybe not.

It is a little tricky to convert a green pen to an IR pen because you have to collimate the 808nm. You have to have goggles at that wavelength because it is near invisible though.

it's probably a 5.6mm diode. Take it out of whatever it's in now and put the diode in an aixiz module. Profit.
