small sun malfunction

i baught a zy-850 green laser a couple weeks ago and a day ago the laser would go off repeatedly. if i shook it a bit it would stay on . today it turned on for a second and then went off and wont turn on any more. do these "symptoms" sound familiar. ive seen this behavior with my led flashlights. can i fix this?

Hm, randomly going off and shaking it helps, you say? This is very weird.

I have not seen such sympthoms so far. I can think of uhh... maybe the crystals getting loose. It would explain it.

Grab a cellphone or a webcam. Point the laser at the white paper. Even if there is no green dot, if my theory is true, you should be able to see pink/white dot through you webcam. That's Infrared radiation emitting from the pump diode, not being turned into green since crystals got loose.

Post results, we'll work from there.

BTW... it sounds like a bad contact to the batteries...
