Sharp 488nm w/ Flexdrive?

Hello again LPF,

I’m a little confused.. I swear I’ve read of people powering the Sharp 488nm with a Flexdrive. But looking at the data sheets, the Sharp’s Vf is 6V and the Flex’s max output is 5.5V.

Is it just close enough or am I missing something? Or did I not actually read what I thought I read?

I drive all my sharp diodes at or above 250 mA. This gives me at least 100 mW out. Haven't used the flexdrive though. Still have some of lazeerer's drivers that can push these diodes with two Li-ion batteries above the Vf of the diode.
