I have seen that some C-mount 808's have a "micro lens" so optics aren't needed between the LD and crystals.  Do your LD's have this micro lens?

Mike
Yes ,I have the C-mount LD+lens between the LD and crystals

Helpful diagram thanks !
So we don't need the "couple optic" with your LD (is it real microlens LD, or LD+ big lens) ???

So.......

How much for LD 2W+ lens+yag+bibo+Mirror ?

                                                  .... please lets us know !  ;)

Has anyone bought anything yet?

If someone does, please post copious notes and pictures. This could be very interesting.

$208

So how much for a 473nm crystal that can be pumped with a 500mW 808nm diode and output 5mW or more.

henrystal:

Could you send me a total price for the KTP-YV04 in a copper, or brass holder. For a 1W pump. And I don't need the Laser diode.

And whats shipping to US?

And can you post a picture of your copper, or brass holder. I also need the dimensions.

The brass holder is Dia8mm and Dia7.5mm,the length is 4mm.
I can give you the sample for free, but you must pay for the shipping. :)

500mw is too low. 5mw 473 use the 1W LD
I also have a question about that. Your saying 1W pump will deliver 5-10mW. But a 2W pump will get around 70-100mW? That sounds way to high compared to the 1W pump.

Is it the difference between BIBO, and LBO? If so.. Could you explain the technical differences between the two crystal types. :)

Thanks,

I think everyone's forgetting just how difficult aligning a DPSS is.
It's all well and good, and I do wish you all the best of luck, but I foresee in a few weeks time many posts of
"my $20 DPSS blue doesnt work help me pleez!1!one!"

and it's going to be rather annoying posting "I told you so" to every single one of them.

If you do manage to get it happening - fantastic. You've all set world records - the most DIY DPSS lasers ever! :)

yes,the 5mw crystal YAG+BIBO is combined together,so it is low efficiency .now we do not have this crystal. The 70-100mw crystal yag+bibo is separate .
LBO is lower conversion efficiency than bibo, so if you make a low power 473,the bibo is better ,if you make a high power laser 473 or 532,I think LBO is better.because it has good properties and good beam quality .

Thanks for clearing that up.

I noticed you said "if you make a high power laser 473 or 532,I think LBO is better."
How do you use LBO with a green laser? Would the LBO replace the YV04?

I think everyone's forgetting just how difficult aligning a DPSS is.

yes BF, you'r right. But i saw how it was easy to got 532 nm with a pump and ndyag+ktp glued. In this setup we just needed to find the correct orientation of diode to the Nd: yag to have the max output (ndyag is sensitive to polarization of the pump).
Here the major problem is that the crystal are not glued together (yag+bibo) they are separate, we must find the "phase matching" plus,  the conversion efficiency is lower than KTP  so we need high pump power which mean "active cooling" for the pump and cristal... and we must deal with lens too...... no words to the mirror output too...
in this experience we need high precision tool (that can carry the crystal (we can't touch them because we can destroy the coating), and that can rotate them) too much difficult ??
But it's... research ! so fascinating and  also so....disappointing! (+$$$), theory is far far far away from practice, but i think we could do it with HUGE time....
i will ask my teacher about some homemade DPSS;

HENRYSTAL  Can you take a photo of a WORKING unit like your diagram ? have you ever tried to align them ?? please tell us !  ;)
, so if you make a low power 473,the bibo is better ,i
low power mean 70-100 mw ?
