HI guys, im new to the forum - so apologies if i break any rules or anything.

I bought a laser (Green, 5mW) from a company in Rotherham by the name of Rother Valley Optics online. It is primarily specialised in products for astronomy (such as telescopes), however they do sell a single laser. The company has good reviews on Facebook and Google. Im just wondering if anyone else has bought a laser from them - how good is it? Here is the link btw: Rother Valley Optics 5mW Green Laser Pointer

Thanks in advance

As good as the ones you can purchase on Ebay. You paid far too much £

I agree with Steve. You paid far too much for this green pen. You can find them on eBay for $3.00. You would likely want more power than 5 mW to point at stars as the beam would not be visible on a truly <5 mW rated laser. I suspect these are the same Chinese pens that go for much less money anywhere else.

Hi there - Another brit that's 2 of us this week :)

Yep, Steve and Paul are right, that's nothing special - just overpriced. Likely that it doesn't even have an IR filter in the end too.

If you plan on sticking around to learn more from us it's generally a good idea to read through some of the sticky posts and post an introduction in the welcome section. There's some seriously knowledgeable people on this forum that have been here for up to a decade and it's good to know how to get along (cause they're brilliant help for the most part!)
