Hi, I have an 200mW NIR diode, it powers with 130ma and 2.4 volts. I want to do a Dorcy or Minimag hack with it, but there is a problem, the AA batteries will overload it and kill it. So, the question: What kind of resistor (10ohm, 11ohm, 12ohm, etc.) should i use to lower the voltage from 3V to 2.4V and lower the current to 130mA. Remember, this uses standard AA batteries.

Thanks, I would really appreciate an answer.

BTW, here is the datasheet for the diode: http://www.zet.biz/Laser/Data/gh0780ma2c.pdf

So that is a 400ohm resistor touching both pins of the diode, and a silicone diode touching the positive pin and connecting to the body of the flashlight (negative)? If this is wrong, please explain to me how to connect them up (i am an amatuer).
