Hey, I'm interested in buying a burner, but I really want one with a slim divergence. I'm currently waivering between companies, but Etian was great last time, so i'm leaning toward his business.
I have a request, if you're listening, Joker :yh:
Could you post pictures of each of your lasers at X feet away with maximum focus? something like Alex did here.
It would really help me select one, even if it took a while! And i'm sure your other patrons would also enjoy the side-by-side comparison!

If you want a slim beam burner, get a 405nm. These are the highest power single mode diodes you cab get and have awesome divergence.

405 1w is your best bet. Thoes diodes are very small so there much more delicate and easier to break. My 405 broke aswell. The next best choice would be the 250mw 520nm as the divergence is amazing forba mulimode. The next best after that would be the 1.8w 445nm with m140 diode. Also you could just get the new 7w 445nm and even tho the divergence sucks the raw power will make it burn very far away. The new 4+ watt 470nm might be nice aswell.

I have a 405, but it burned out :(

Then you need another one. My S06J 12X 405nm at 590mW is still going strong after more than a year and a half, it will burn anything. The more powerful BDR-209 can burn at up to 80 or 90 feet. If you want blue then the PLTB450B seems to be superior to an M140, but I don't think Eitan uses that diode.

Yes the Osram PLTB450B is tighter than the M-140. But I would rather cube 2 BDR-209's

I do use the pltb450b. It is tighter than the m140 which I do not use any more. Only if someone asks for it.

Nowdays though I usually uses 9mm diodes from 2W+ builds.

:)

Is there a difference between the divergence of the 250mW 520 and the 1W 520?
