Removing the thread's title in buy / sell / trade

Hi guys

for me is not a good idea to remove the titles of the threads in the section buy /sell/trade, and substitute them with the term "SOLD", because even if the sale was completed, a user would know what was sold.
A possibility could be simply to add "sold" (as many do) in the original title...
What do you think about?

I agree 100%....

And removing the OP text as items are solds is also a PITA...
Just add SOLD to the Items in the OP as they are sold or change
the Text color like some sellers do...

The same addition of SOLD to the Tittle is sufficient...
I would like to know the bargain prices I missed while
I was getting some Zzzzs..

Possibly, but when you post something for sale and it sells and you don't edit the thread you will still get PM's from idiots that only read the first two words of the titile. I have enough PM's coming at me, so I edit the thread a lot to stop the unnecessary PM's

But, another thing to consider (even though it goes against my preferred method ) is dispute resolution. If someone posts a laser for sale and it sells it fast and the thread is deleted the thread there is no longer a public record of the sale and it would be a he said/she said argument if the deal goes sour.

I recommend editing the title to SOLD!, but leaving the contents of the original post intact. Actually I believe the first post in the for sale/trade thread should not be allowed to be edited for the very reason I posted above.

Just my $0.02 that nobody asked for!

Yeah, you would think so, but I use the word idiots lightly. The stronger word I would like to use in this situation would probably be frowned upon around here

I would laugh if our uber-liberal admin decided to mandate that you can't clear text out of your own BST threads. Ultimately it's his call, but that'd be rather ironic.

It's only a suggestion, not a rule... I think that could be useful to see the objects sold simply through the titles! :thinking:

i usually just add "sold" (eg: *SOLD* FS: your mom)to the front of the thread title, and then at the top of the original post.

I'm not sure what this OP was speaking about. I didn't understand it.
