Hi

i need to know how many current red lasers need on 20+ x. Until now i've got only 16x lasers that run at 300 mA.

How about 20 and 22x laser diode from dvd burner?

Ps: i read this lasers dissipate thermal power a lot... can they used with classical axiz laser module with variable focus?

thanks.

(Sorry for bad english)

420mA is good with a heatsink and a 30s on/ 30s off duty cycle

Thanks... i'm italian :)

But.. Some time ago i read on this forum that the 20x laser diode works at 600 mA... it's correct?

and 22x?

I can't find the thread at the moment, but those people were just very lucky, or have found a special run of diodes.

A 22x diode is the same power as a 20x.

Ah ok... thanks...
so 20x and 22x uses the same DL.

What is the power of 20/22x laser diode?

the LPC-815 20x diode can hit about 250mw+ at about 420mA. Its the most common high power 5.6mm diode we normally use. If you want a longer duty cycle, you can still use the aixis module (with a LARGE heatsink)

thanks again.
comparing 20x to 16x is there great difference?
16x is 200 mW?

edit: and 18x?
Perhabs i will have some 18x-20x broken dvd burner... :)

meatball hit it on the head. i run 20x LCC's at 412Ma and get around 230-240mW. give or take a few. this current may slightly lower their lifespans if you do not use a large enough heatsink as they get very very hot during operation. i keep my duty cycle to 60seconds on 3 minuets off.
