red laser driver help

if i were to get LPC-815 Red 630-660nm Long Die Open Can diode and place it into a module and i wanted it to run at 430mA with a micro drive laser driver. would it run of 3 1.5 aaa bateries? if not what is the best input voltage? and which host would fit the battery needed for this voltage?

The Red LOC module will have the LPC-815 Red 630-660nm Long Die Open Can diode, harvested and install in an AixiZ module with a driver set to 430mA, giving out approx 240-250mW or what ever range you like.

will i need a heat sink?
can i push the diode any harder if i use a good heat sink.........how many mw

430mA is too much for those diodes. It won't last very long at that current, regardless of heatsinking. A duty cycle will help make it feel like it is lasting longer, but I'd bet you won't see much more than 20-30 hours of total operating time. Pretty much all laser diodes are rated to last 10,000 hours or more, as long as you don't overload them. Personally, I recommend no more than 350mA for max lifetime, but I doubt you'd see anywhere near 10,000 hours even at that current.

350ma......will it affect the mw? what do you recomned and

how many bateries will it take < important question
