Oceansoul, I thank you for your thesis on LD's and drivers. It did make sense. Unfortunately I don't have a smoke machine...yet. I am looking into getting one. It isn't for any type of production. Just a private prop reproduction. I am very much up for making the driver myself. I have been soldering for over 2 years so am not afraid of the iron.
I will be looking into the LD's you mentioned and weigh up each ones pros and cons.
I am glad the forum has experienced and helpful people such as yourself to help me out in my search for a laser. I will most certainly be asking for more help.
