This is the result so far from my, half, home made scanner. The red laser is a 100mw (650nm) with TTL and the green laser is my 75mw (532nm) pointer without TTL obviously. Not a bad result on some of them I think, cant wait to get a real green module with TTL in there.

Yeah, I have been looking for them for the past hour.

I am thinking of just getting the £30 one in maplin.

thats all mine is

Really? Does any kind of fog juice work with it? I found a few really cheap ones online but it says water based only.

I am actually using the good old hairspray technique to capture the beam in that video.

no idea, i get the smoke frm maplin?

Ah ok then. You ever tried the smoke spray stuff? The amount I use my lasers I will be better off with the fogger but what is the spray like?

The spray is "OK" It really does not hang around as much as I think it should....

light a fire that will work ;)

The heat this scanner is generating thats actually quite possible...

After 15 mins use the back of the scanner housing is so hot you cant touch it. Wont be a problem soon when I move it to a better box.

you mean the dmx???

do not let the amp or galvos get hot, otherwise bang!!!!

The maplin spray stuff if quite good for a little bit of messing around. I tend to use a few quick sprays here and there and I can use my DX30mW like a itsy-bitsy light sabre, but even though the beam is more visible, you can't really see the smoke.??? :-/ But like SenKat said, it doesn't stay for too long. Best shutting the door or something.

Also, if you spray a bit, it leaves a thin film of residue on the floor. Now this may not be a problem for beams and stuff, but I used some quite close to my DIY spyro and it caked the mirrors in an oily film which messed up the projected image. So DON'T spray near good equipment, spray in the direction of the beam, not the equipment.

The amp doesnt get very hot and the galvos don't get hot at all. I said the display dsp is getting hot.
