After accidently damaging my last OPSL530 (thanks Holokid, it was great while it lasted), I am once again looking for laser diodes suitable for holography. Some of the older models listed on this forum are becoming harder to find, so I wanted to see if anyone knew of any newer diodes with good tem00 and several meters of spatial coherence.
I've used a red Sharp GH0631IA2GC, which was difficult to keep in tem00, and a blue Sharp GH04580A2G which caused orange fluorescence in the film I'm using. Also looking for stable low-noise driver recommendations, as the cheap drivers I got off ebay are the prime suspect in the demise of my OPSL. Trying to keep the budged for this under $200 if possible, but open to any recommendations if the cost is justified.

Thanks in advance!

I got this on Amazon for 35$ .Just wire a wall transformer to it being mindful of polarity and required current and voltage.I use one of these supplied from a 50 v 3amp power supply that I pulled from the trash to test and run all my diodes with no issue. You just have to supply slightly over what you require to the driver .

Too bad. Those OPSL lasers were great for holograms. Integraf has a low power red and I heard that Laserglow has some with long enough coherence length.

You can usually find HeNes on e-bay... again much less power than that OPSL.

I started making holograms in 1980 after getting my first 632.8nm HeNe tube. I haven't been back into it recently, but had many holograms I made using that and other tube lasers. At the time those were the best you could get for the price. You'll have to show some photos of your holograms when you get some. I made mostly reflection holograms which don't need a laser to reconstruct the object wave. I did make some transmission ones to use in making ones that needed several steps to get the outcome I wanted.

edited for a grammarical error.

Anthony P, I have a 6mw HeNe which works pretty well, although the spatial coherence isn't great, maybe about 10-20cm. I appreciate your recommendations.
