Re: recomendation laser shows on ebay £300
If you are looking for a "party" laser, (and don't have hundreds to spend on ILDA software), probably the best bang for the buck are the 2 and 3 color lasers from Shinp - The CL26RGY is a great 3-color show with the ability to be controlled via DMX or it can run on its' own as sound-active...It has 200Mw red and 60Mw green diodes and really has some neat preprogrammed effects (we use both those and the CL36RGY's at our DJ and Wedding shows) - Price through Shinp is $260US ... Stay away from the DL55 and DL88's (very low powered and not as impressive as they should be for the price IMHO) though - for single color shows it's hard to beat the DL33 in the 100Mw X2 version at $325 direct (keep in mind these prices are direct through Shinp, you may pat a small premium through Ebay dealers if they are shipping from the US as they have to deal with getting them here, etc) ... Lastly, for bigger stuff, we have several LaserWorld Disco 300's that are an amazing single-output unit (yes, they are ILDA as well as DMX) and if you watch the auctions, generally go for $500 or so including shipping.
Hope some of this helps - just a note to be wary of the SL-5's that are currently being sold on Ebay for around $100 at auction ($169 "Buy it Now") - there is a distributor in CA that recently bought a container of them special ordered at a lower cost with 30Mw modules (and no product name silkscreened on the housings, just the model number) yet they are trying to pawn them off as 50Mw or in some auctions 60Mw... Lastly, READ THE AUCTIONS CAREFULLY, do NOT fall for the auctions with the pictures of the "dancing girls" (obviously I'm not going to bash a seller by name) - they are consistantly misrepresenting the power of their lasers (if you read the fine, fine print you'll see the disclaimers) by saying stuff like "200Mw Green (60Mw typical)" in their auctions for the REAL SL-5's, which are factory rated at 50Mw.
Hope this helped - to recap, go for the green DL33 if you find it in the 2x100Mw, or try and find CL16RGY's if you want multicolor on a budget.
