Hmm... Rechargeable CR2s that work with lasers are hard to find, because most of the lasers aren't designed to work with the 3.7V nominal voltage of rechargeables, but with the 3V of primaries instead. DX has a set of 3V CR2 rechargeables that should work fine though.
In terms of stability, I don't think there's any difference between primaries and rechargeables, provided they can both provide the same voltage and enough current to drive the laser constant.
