Recent experiences with these two companies?

Heya guys,

I know these two are not the top of the pop when it comes to quality, I guess they are at least decent nowadays, and used to be better at making up - to - specs quality products. However, I am a poor, laser - interested student, and since I am not sure how to buy from members here and since I am also maybe too paranoid when it comes to buying from private people I want to ask:
Which one of these companies, Lazerer and O - like have you recently had the better experiences with, product - wise?

I am thinking of buying a 500 mw green DPSS laser.

Thanks in advance :)

O-like for sure. One thing I must mention is if you are in college & mentioned being "poor" which is totally cool, nothing wrong with that I would suggest not getting a 500mW 532 first since those things can range $300+. Maybe try getting a 100mW or 200mW(if your budget allows) since those are much cheaper.

If you also want extra advice, take a look at laserbtb, they are pretty cheap and have some pretty good quality/price ratio:

Thanks for the advice :) I just heard that the companies are both underspec and that Lazerer at least measures the output power?

I might go for a 100 mw. But I actually wanted the 500 mw since I probably wouldn't buy two pointers right away and I really wanted a 500; mw green :/

Laserbtb seems really nice, especially that 1W 650nm portable laser! Just too bad it is multimode ... I wonder if a beam expander will do that any good?

eh what laserbtb i have yet to hear any real complaints against, most of their lasers u can be sure are overspec, specially the green ones all are crazy overspec like last one that bought a 500mW in a group break had it peaked at like 640mW or something. And i really dont see why u need so much power its dangerous also dont forget you need proper goggles.

You should stay away from lazerer they are crap these days and the lasers they sell dont have good quality either, typical mass produced made in china lasers with zero quality control, laserbtb can also send u power graph in email if u write that in notes when buy from them, they have nothing to hide they have a reputation here for a reason after 5 or 6 big group breaks u cant say the same about shity lazerer nobody on this planet cares about.

And if you ask me you can still enjoy a 100mW green laser, the beam will be very bright and visible when its dark and u can still pop some black things and burn tape etc, a true 500mW laser will also cost you like 500$ which doesnt sound like you have that money right now but if u do u can always buy later and save up no need rush things.

Well yeah, I am going to get some quality goggles before I buy something that powerful, I heard the Eagle ones are decent for only one week's worth of food ;)

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong: the only decent - price / good quality products sellers are: LPF members, laserBTB, and Sci-fi lasers; which is run by people from here?

Yes, Sci-fi lasers is run by a member, Thejoker301. Jetlasers is also a great company that is highly recommended.

I have a good amount of recent buying experience with O-like. A 532 dpss for $240, I don't think you will find a better deal on that kind of power and in my buying experience fairly good customer service. I have bought 4 lasers from O-like in the past 3 months. My 400mW 532 is over spec and its my favorite laser I own. O-like isn't Jet laser or Laser BTB quality but is priced accordingly. They get a bad rap but you get what you pay for and I think its fair.

I have great things to say about my Sci-fi laser but high powered 532 dpss is not available so if your heart is set on

Nice, that is a lot of recent experience :) thanks. How about CNI? I have a feeling they are high quality, but I may be mistaken. I think I heard someone on the forum say that he got a 500mw green DPSS for 250$ but that sounds unlikely if CNI is a top seller ... I also read that they do not ship >5mW lasers abroad anymore, but that might be for the US only.
It seems to me that O -like has good prices and wide selection, LaserBTB has good quality and wide selection, and Sci-fi has good quality and good prices, no?
